The Georgia Work Ready Certification Program was launched in 2006 by Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue. It is comprised of various skills assessment tests to document the ability of the tester to perform mathematical problems, English literacy, comprehension, research skills, work habits, and problem solving at the business level. The test is a version of the nationally accredited ACT Workkeys. This document is a requirement for most public positions in the state of Georgia. The Certificate rates the overall qualifications of the recipient, though specific scores are available through the Georgia Work Ready Program for each area. Each area receives a score of 1 to 7, with 7 related equivalent to a 100 (a perfect score) and 3 related equivalent to a 70 (a passing score). A Score of Gold indicates that the recipient received a minimum score of a 5 in all measured areas of competency.
